Haha, mortgage companies really do seem to have their own sense of time, don't they? Ever wonder if they're secretly testing our stress levels, or is it just classic bureaucracy at play...?

Haha, honestly, sometimes it feels like both. I've seen cases where paperwork sits untouched for days, then suddenly everything needs to be signed yesterday. Makes you wonder if there's a hidden camera somewhere watching us sweat. But seriously, I think it's mostly just layers of approval and outdated systems slowing things down. Have you noticed any difference when dealing with smaller lenders versus the big banks? Curious if others have had smoother experiences there...

I've dealt with both big banks and smaller lenders, and honestly, neither seems immune to the snail-paced paperwork shuffle. Smaller lenders can sometimes move quicker because there's fewer hoops to jump through, but I've also seen them get bogged down by limited staff or outdated tech. Big banks have resources but layers upon layers of approvals... pick your poison, I guess. Either way, patience (and a sense of humor) is key when dealing with mortgages.

Patience definitely helps, but I'd argue that proactive management can make a bigger difference. I've found that clearly setting expectations upfront and regularly following up—politely but firmly—can significantly speed things along. Waiting passively for lenders, big or small, often just prolongs the process. Sometimes you have to push a bit to keep the wheels turning...

I've noticed that many delays stem from misunderstandings or incomplete documentation. By carefully reviewing requirements upfront and promptly addressing any requests, you can often preemptively resolve potential roadblocks.
