I haven't done HARP specifically, but as someone who just survived my first mortgage experience (barely), I can confirm paperwork is basically a hazing ritual. Felt like I was signing away my soul page by page. But honestly, if it means shaving off some monthly stress, I'd probably dive back into that paperwork nightmare again... reluctantly. Yeah, refinancing paperwork is no joke... felt like I was drowning in forms too. But once you're through it, the relief of lower payments is pretty great. Hang in there, it'll be worth it.
