That’s exactly how it went for us after we paid off our credit cards. I thought we’d feel loaded, but instead, little “treats” just started sneaking back in—takeout here, a fancy coffee machine there. It’s funny how quickly the budget fills up again. Did you ever try setting up an automatic transfer to savings, just to keep that extra money from slipping away? That was the only thing that kept us in check, honestly.

Yeah, it’s wild how fast those small splurges add up once the pressure’s off. I set up an auto-transfer too, but honestly, sometimes I’d just move it back if something “urgent” came up. After refinancing, I got paranoid about slipping into old habits. Did you ever try tracking your spending after the debt was gone, or did you just rely on the transfers?
