I found a couple places willing to drop “processing” fees just because I asked.

That’s been my experience, too—sometimes those “standard” fees aren’t set in stone at all. One lender cut their origination fee in half after I questioned it. It’s wild how much is negotiable if you push a little.

Honestly, it’s crazy how many fees are just made up or padded in these deals. I’ve seen “admin” charges that disappear the second you call them out. If you don’t question every line item, you’re probably paying too much. Lenders bank on people not pushing back.
