Honestly, I get the frustration, but I don’t think the process is as random as it feels. I’ve refinanced twice in the last five years and yeah, the paperwork is a pain, but there’s a method to the madness. The underwriters are just covering themselves—if they miss something, it’s their job on the line. I’d rather deal with a few extra forms than risk the loan falling through at the last minute. And about the “house money” account, I actually found it easier to just automate everything and avoid touching it for anything but the down payment. Not perfect, but it saved me a lot of headaches.
