Had a servicer tack on a “document review fee” once - $75 for literally nothing. I called them out, and after some back and forth, they dropped it. Always double-check those statements... they bank on folks not noticing....

Yeah, I’ve been there - had a HELOC on a rental a few years back when rates were low, figured I’d just pay interest and keep it flexible. Fast forward, rates shot up and suddenly my “cheap” money wasn’t so cheap anymore....
