RE: Donald Trump on H1-B Visa Crackdown: What We’re Seeing from Borrowers
Title: Donald Trump on H1-B Visa Crackdown: What We’re Seeing from Borrowers Yeah, I totally get where you’re coming from. When we bought our place back in 2012, I remember thinking the paperwork was already out of cont...
RE: Struggling with mortgage payments?
I get where you’re coming from, but I’m not totally convinced it’s all just random or luck of the draw. I’ve refinanced a couple times now, and yeah, sometimes it feels like the underwriter is just picking things out of ...
RE: Choosing Between National and Local Debt Service Coverage Ratio Options
Totally get where you’re coming from. I once tried to refinance with one of the big national banks because their rate looked awesome on paper, but the back-and-forth was exhausting. I swear, I spent more time explaining ...
RE: Texas Homebuyers: What’s Stopping You From Your Dream Household?
Man, the “courier fee” gets me every time - like, are they hand-delivering my paperwork on horseback? I’ve tried the credit union route too, and you’re right, they’re usually more upfront. Still, even with all the checkl...
RE: Home equity loans and taxes - did you know this?
I hear you on the conflicting CPA advice - feels like every year the rules shift a bit, too. I’ve always wondered, do you guys keep track of labor costs separately from materials, or just lump it all together? Sometimes ...
RE: Does a VA loan require an inspection? What are the VA loan inspection requirements for buyers and spouses?
Title: Does a VA loan require an inspection? What are the VA loan inspection requirements for buyers and spouses? That’s been my experience too, for the most part. The VA appraiser flagged a roof issue on my last plac...
RE: Mortgage Refinance Dallas Texas | Save More with Local Experts
Yeah, that front-loaded interest is sneaky. The first time I refinanced, I was shocked at how little of my payment actually went to principal for the first few years. Also, watch for those “processing” or “document” fees...
RE: When Can I Finally Ditch Mortgage Insurance?
Yeah, lenders can be pretty frustrating with stuff like this. I had a similar experience when I tried to drop PMI a couple years back. Customer service made it sound like a breeze, but underwriting had their own set of r...
RE: Mortgage rules just got tighter - didn't see that coming
Haha, that's hilarious about the "Netflix & chill" thing! I totally agree though - sometimes it feels like they're digging a bit too deep. When we refinanced last year, they questioned a monthly Venmo labeled "pizza ...
RE: Ever thought about using escrow accounts? Here's a scenario...
Totally relate to this. I had the opposite happen - my escrow was underfunded because they underestimated my insurance premium. Got hit with a surprise bill at year-end, which wasn't fun at all. Now I do the same thing, ...
RE: Thinking about refinancing my VA mortgage, curious what others are doing
We actually stuck with the 30-year term when we refinanced even though the 15-year rates were tempting. Glad we did, honestly... had an unexpected job change last year and that lower payment made things way less stressfu...
RE: Feeling Stuck Paying Only Interest and Getting Nowhere
Totally relate to this. When we refinanced a few years ago, I got so caught up in chasing the lowest interest rate that I completely overlooked the origination fee. It wasn't until we were at closing and I saw the breakd...
RE: Smart Thermostat Vs. Energy-Efficient Windows: Which Saves More Money Long-Term?
Totally with you on the windows making a bigger difference. We upgraded ours last fall, and it was like night and day - no more chilly drafts sneaking in! Smart thermostats are helpful, don't get me wrong, especially if ...
RE: Mortgage rules just got tighter - didn't see that coming
Yeah, that's definitely tricky. When we refinanced a couple years back, even with solid credit and steady income, the paperwork was still pretty intense. Felt like jumping through hoops just to prove we weren't risky. I ...
