Finally closed my short sale - anyone else surprised how smooth it went?
Honestly, I was bracing myself for a total nightmare when I decided to go the short sale route. Heard so many horror stories about banks dragging their feet, paperwork disasters, and deals falling apart last minute. But weirdly enough, mine went pretty smoothly. Took about three months total, and the bank was actually responsive (shocker, I know). Curious if my experience was just dumb luck or if others have had similar experiences lately?

Sounds like you lucked out a bit. Short sales have gotten smoother lately, but it still depends heavily on the bank and the negotiator you're dealing with. Had one close in under two months recently, yet another dragged on forever... so mileage definitely varies.
Congrats on the smooth ride! Mine was more like a rollercoaster designed by someone who hates fun. Thought we were good to go, then the bank switched negotiators halfway through, and suddenly it felt like starting from scratch. Eventually closed after nearly 5 months and way too many stress snacks. Glad yours was easier - maybe I should've bribed my negotiator with cookies or something...
