Yeah, keeping both digital and paper copies is a lifesaver—I swear, every lender wants something different just to keep us on our toes. Smaller banks really do seem to care more, or at least pretend better. I’ve had a big lender lose my docs twice...never again.

- Been there, done that—had to resend my tax returns three times once.
- Digital copies are great until someone “can’t open the attachment.”
- Smaller banks do seem to pick up the phone more, but sometimes their tech is stuck in 2005.
- I keep a folder labeled “For Mortgage People Who Lose Things.” Works like a charm...most days.

That folder idea is gold—wish more folks did that. The “can’t open the attachment” thing cracks me up, though. Happens way too often with some of the bigger lenders. Smaller banks might be old school, but at least you usually get a real person on the line who’ll actually look for your docs instead of sending you in circles. It’s all a bit of a balancing act, honestly.
