I tried refinancing last year and the “new” online system my lender bragged about just made things more confusing. Ended up having to call in anyway because half the forms wouldn’t load. Honestly, it felt like more hoops, not fewer. Anyone else get stuck in that loop?

- Ended up faxing paperwork—felt like 1998.
- Honestly, these “upgrades” often add steps instead of streamlining.
- If you’re refinancing, I’ve found smaller credit unions sometimes have more user-friendly portals.
- Not sure why big lenders can’t get this right...
