My dad recently retired, and we were chatting the other day about how retirement life isn't exactly what he'd imagined. He joked about selling the house, buying an RV, and cruising around the country like some kind of nomad. We laughed it off at first, but then he started seriously wondering if borrowing against the house might actually be a viable way to fund some adventures without selling outright. I mean, it's a pretty big step, right? But the more we talked, the more it seemed like it could be a cool way for him to enjoy retirement without totally uprooting everything.
Anyway, it got me thinking...what if someone actually did that? Like, picture this: a retired couple decides to take out a reverse mortgage, buys an RV, and hits the road to see all the places they dreamed of but never visited. What kind of adventuresβor misadventuresβwould they run into? Would they regret it, love it, or maybe a little of both?
Curious if anyone else has thought about this or has some interesting ideas for how this story could unfold...
