I hear you—sometimes the cheaper companies really do handle the basics just fine. I’ve switched a couple times myself and didn’t notice much difference until I actually had to file a claim. That’s where things can get tricky, but for day-to-day stuff, you’re probably right. Those reviews are a mess though... half the time it’s just people venting after a bad experience.

I get where you’re coming from, but I actually had the opposite experience—my “budget” insurer was great when I filed a claim after a pipe burst. Maybe I just got lucky, but I think sometimes the big names aren’t always better. I do agree, though, reviews are all over the place... it’s tough to know who to trust.

Funny how that works, right? I’ve seen clients get burned by big-name companies dragging their feet, while some lesser-known ones step up fast. Honestly, I always tell folks to shop around every couple years. Loyalty doesn’t always pay off in insurance. Comparing quotes and coverage side-by-side is worth the hassle, even if reviews are a mess. Sometimes it’s just about who actually picks up the phone when you need them.

Totally get where you’re coming from. I’ve seen people stick with the same company for years, thinking it’ll pay off, but then get hit with a rate hike or slow claims. It’s smart to check every couple years, even if it’s a pain. I usually make a quick spreadsheet—just jot down coverage details and prices. It’s not glamorous, but it helps cut through the noise. And yeah, sometimes the “budget” guys surprise you in a good way.

That spreadsheet idea is actually pretty solid—wish I’d thought of it before I started calling around. I was a bit skeptical about switching, honestly. Part of me figured loyalty would count for something, but when my renewal jumped $300 for no reason, that went out the window fast.

I get what you mean about the “budget” companies too. I expected bare-bones service, but one of them actually walked me through all the coverage options and didn’t try to upsell me on stuff I didn’t need. Not saying they’re all great, but it’s worth checking instead of just assuming the old company is best.

Making a list of what you really need coverage-wise helped me too—otherwise it’s easy to get lost in the weeds with all the different terms and numbers. It’s kind of a pain, but yeah, feels good knowing you’re not just blindly overpaying year after year.
