Just got pre-approved - now the house hunt feels real
My partner and I just got our pre-approval letter yesterday, and it's weirdly exciting but also a little scary. Like suddenly it's not just Zillow daydreaming anymore, it's actually happening! Did anyone else feel kinda overwhelmed at this point or is it just me?

A pre-approval amount is a ceiling, not necessarily a comfortable budget. For buyers at this stage, it helps to set a firm monthly-payment limit that includes property taxes, homeowners insurance, maintenance, and any HOA fees before narrowing neighborhoods or must-haves. That makes the search feel more manageable and reduces the risk of falling for homes that only work at the lender’s maximum.
