Couldn’t agree more about the “flaming hoops” part. When I refinanced last year, I swear the underwriter asked for my pay stubs three separate times—same exact ones. At first I thought I’d messed up, but nope, just their process. It’s wild how one lender will nitpick every detail, and another just shrugs off the visa stuff. There’s no real standard, which is honestly the most frustrating part.

Keeping digital copies of everything saved me a ton of headaches. I’d also add: document every conversation, even if it feels overkill. A quick email summary after a call can clear up confusion later.

It’s easy to get cynical, but you’re right—the end result is worth the hassle. The system’s clunky, but it does eventually work. Just don’t let the paperwork circus make you second-guess yourself. If you’ve got your docs in order, you’re already ahead of the game.
