Haha, prepping beforehand is definitely a lifesaver. I remember my first zoning meeting—I walked in thinking it'd be straightforward, and left feeling like I'd just sat through a foreign film without subtitles. Now I always skim the agenda online first, Google any weird terms, and scribble down questions. Speaking of zoning jargon, anyone ever figure out what "non-conforming use" actually means in plain English? Still trips me up sometimes...
Haha, zoning meetings can definitely feel like another language at first. Non-conforming use basically just means the property's current use was legal when it started, but zoning rules changed afterward...so now it's technically "grandfathered in." Took me a while to wrap my head around that one too.
