Good points—seen this happen a lot with clients. A few things to consider:
- Local regulations might require regular maintenance to avoid fines.
- Overgrown land can affect property value negatively.
Did you run into any zoning or compliance issues because of the invasive plants?

Funny you mention invasive plants—I had a run-in with kudzu once that still haunts my dreams. Bought this nice little plot intending to sit on it for a while, thinking it'd be easy money down the road. Fast forward six months, and the neighbors are calling it "Jurassic Park." Turns out kudzu grows faster than my procrastination skills.

Anyway, zoning didn't hit me directly, but I did get a friendly (read: passive-aggressive) letter from the city about maintaining property standards. Apparently, invasive species can trigger compliance checks if neighbors complain enough. Ended up hiring a landscaping crew to clear it out—cost me way more than I'd planned, but lesson learned.

So yeah, definitely check local regs on invasive plants before they turn your investment into a jungle safari.

Interesting story, but honestly, kudzu isn't always the nightmare it's made out to be. I've seen some folks manage it pretty cheaply by renting goats—seriously, goats love the stuff and clear it out surprisingly fast. Might've saved you a chunk of change compared to landscaping crews. Maybe worth looking into if it ever comes back... or if anyone else here runs into similar jungle issues down the line.

Good point about the goats—I actually saw a neighbor use them once, and it was pretty impressive how quickly they cleared things out. Landscaping crews can definitely add up fast, especially if you're not planning to build immediately. Managing costs early on is key when holding land long-term. Glad you mentioned this option; it's practical advice for anyone dealing with invasive plants or just general overgrowth issues.

Haha totally agree—my wallet still aches from hiring landscapers last year! Honestly, goats sound like a win-win: cheaper, eco-friendly, and bonus points for entertainment value watching them munch away.
