It’s wild how a $7 or $13 charge can mess with your whole mortgage rate. I’ve seen folks get so focused on the big stuff—down payment, income, all that—that they forget about these tiny landmines. Honestly, I’m not convinced carrying a small balance does anything positive for your score either. Utilization is king, but those random charges? They’re like gremlins. I always tell people: trust autopay, but verify... because the credit bureaus sure aren’t cutting anyone slack.
