I've noticed it can seem random, but honestly, I've found some smaller local lenders tend to move quicker. Had a client recently breeze through the process after switching from a big bank that kept fumbling paperwork... coincidence maybe, but makes me wonder.

That's an interesting observation. I've also noticed smaller lenders often have fewer bureaucratic hurdles, which can definitely streamline things. Big banks sometimes get bogged down in their own systems and processesβ€”had a similar situation last year where paperwork was repeatedly misplaced, causing unnecessary delays. Not sure it's coincidence; perhaps smaller institutions have more flexibility to adapt quickly? Either way, glad your client had a smoother experience after switching.

Had almost the exact same thing happen with a client recently. We started with one of the big lenders, and it felt like every week there was another form to resend or clarify... total headache. Switched over to a smaller local lender, and suddenly things moved along smoothly. Makes me wonder if it's just about flexibility or maybe smaller lenders have more incentive to keep things efficient? Curious if others have noticed this too.

Had a similar experience myself when buying my first homeβ€”felt like I was stuck in paperwork purgatory with one of the big banks. Switched to a local credit union, and suddenly things just clicked into place. Maybe smaller lenders just have fewer hoops to jump through?

Could be, but I wonder if it's less about size and more about internal policies. I've seen smaller lenders bogged down tooβ€”maybe it's more about how they're structured internally rather than their scale alone?
