I get where you’re coming from, but sometimes it really is just a mess of bureaucracy and not some grand scheme to squeeze more money out of folks. I’ve dealt with plenty of court filings and title companies that were just overwhelmed or short-staffed, not necessarily shady. Sure, some third-parties tack on fees, but honestly, half the time it’s just people dropping the ball or not communicating. Still, you’re right about double-checking—saved my skin more than once.

Couldn’t agree more. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve had to chase down paperwork because someone “forgot” to send an email. It’s not always a conspiracy—sometimes it’s just chaos. Still, I always keep a folder with every scrap of correspondence. Learned the hard way that “I never got that” is code for “I lost it.” Double-checking is a pain, but it beats scrambling at the last minute.

It’s wild how often “I never got that” pops up, right? I swear, if I had a dollar for every time someone claimed an email vanished into the ether, I’d have paid off my mortgage by now. I’ve started screenshotting sent emails just in case. Is it overkill? Maybe. But when your house is on the line, I’d rather be paranoid than sorry. Anyone else notice that the more urgent the paperwork, the more likely it is to go missing?

I get the urge to screenshot everything, but does that actually help if someone claims they never received it? Like, you’ve got proof you sent it, sure, but what if they say their inbox was full or it went to spam? I sometimes wonder if certified mail or even old-school faxes are safer for the really critical stuff... It feels like overkill, but losing a house over a tech glitch sounds worse.

I totally get that urge to screenshot everything, but honestly, screenshots don’t mean much if you’re in court and someone’s determined to play dumb. Certified mail isn’t overkill when your home’s on the line—it’s cheap peace of mind. I’d rather spend a few bucks at the post office than risk a judge shrugging at my email “sent” notification. Tech glitches happen way too often for my liking.
