- Totally get the paranoia vs. prepared debate.
- I keep a folder of originals, too—feels like a relic, but it’s saved me more than once.
- Digital backups are great until someone says “not good enough.”
- Honestly, I’d rather look like a hoarder than lose my house over paperwork drama.
- Murphy’s Law is real... especially when you’re standing in line at the courthouse with sweaty palms and a stack of docs.

I’ve seen more than a few folks show up with just their phone, thinking a PDF will do the trick—only to get sent home for the “real” thing. It’s wild how some offices still want that blue-ink signature or a raised seal, like we’re in the 80s. I always tell clients: if it feels like overkill, you’re probably doing it right. Better to lug around a stack of originals than risk a delay that could cost you big time. Murphy’s Law loves paperwork, no doubt about it.

I get where you’re coming from, but honestly, I’ve had a few offices accept digital copies lately—especially since the pandemic. Maybe it depends on the county or the clerk? I always bring both, just in case. I keep scans on my phone and a folder of originals in the car. It’s a pain, but I’d rather have options than get turned away. One time, the clerk actually preferred the PDF because their scanner was down... go figure.

Had a similar experience last year—one clerk wanted paper, the other was all about digital. Honestly, it’s kind of a toss-up depending on who you get behind the counter. I just keep everything in a big envelope and a backup on my phone... never know.

Been there—one time I showed up with a folder thick enough to stop a bullet, and the clerk just pointed at a QR code taped to the window. Next time, I bring everything on a flash drive and they want hard copies. It’s like playing court roulette. Your envelope/phone combo is genius though. Gotta stay one step ahead of the paper-chasing chaos, right?
