I'm kinda stuck here and could use some input. Basically, I'm dealing with foreclosure and trying to figure out if it's worth hiring a lawyer or if I should just handle the legal paperwork myself. I've heard from a friend that hiring a lawyer can really help navigate the tricky stuff and maybe even buy some extra time. But then again, money's tight (obviously, lol) and I've seen some online resources that make it seem doable to handle it yourself if you're careful and organized.
Has anyone here been through this? Did you go the lawyer route or did you DIY it? I'm leaning toward getting a lawyer just because the whole thing feels overwhelming, but if it's not gonna make a huge difference, I'd rather save the cash. Curious what worked for other people and why.
I haven't personally been through foreclosure, but I did handle some legal paperwork myself once (small claims stuff, nothing as big as foreclosure). Honestly, it was stressful as heck even with online guides. If you're feeling overwhelmed already...

...then it might be worth the peace of mind to get a lawyer, even if it's tight financially. Just my two cents. Good luck either way!
