Just curious, how many of you have actually had to deal with foreclosure in court? Was it worth fighting, or did you wish you'd just walked away? Quick poll:
A) Fought it, glad I did
B) Fought it, regret it
C) Didn't fight, no regrets
D) Didn't fight, wish I had
Honestly, foreclosure fights aren't always so black-and-white. I've seen clients pour money into court battles only to still lose their homes. Sometimes negotiating alternatives earlyβlike short sales or loan modificationsβcan save a lot of stress and cash... just something to consider.
I get where you're coming from, but I've personally seen foreclosure court battles swing both ways. Had a property a few years back where the lender was dragging their feet on a modification, so I decided to lawyer up and push back. Surprisingly, once we got to court, they became way more cooperative... ended up with a solid modification deal. So yeah, negotiating early is smart, but sometimes showing you're willing to fight can change the dynamic. It's never one-size-fits-all.
