I've been renting forever and finally feel like I'm ready to jump into the whole home ownership thing. But honestly, the more I google, the more overwhelmed I feel. Mortgages, down payments, closing costsβit's like learning a new language. Anyway, I saw there's these seminars locally for folks who've never bought before, and I'm kinda tempted to go. But part of me wonders if they're actually helpful or just a sales pitch disguised as education, you know? My friend went to one last year and said it was decent, but he's also the type who enjoys reading fine print for fun (weirdo, lol). Has anyone here tried one of these workshops? Did it genuinely help you feel less lost, or did it just make things more confusing?
