Yeah, good point about lenders padding the escrow cushion... hadn't even thought of that. I'm still tempted by spreading it out, but you're right—seeing that higher payment every month might get annoying fast. Decisions, decisions...

Haha, seriously though, isn't adulting just a never-ending series of these annoying little dilemmas? I'm in the same boat—first-time homeowner here, and I swear every month there's some new surprise expense popping up. I'm leaning toward lump sum myself, just to rip off the band-aid. But then again, spreading it out means fewer ramen noodle dinners this month... hmm, priorities?
