Lost in the paperwork jungle: mortgage edition
Yeah, the mortgage process really does turn you into a forensic accountant. A few quick tips I’ve picked up:
- Keep digital copies of everything - screenshots, PDFs, even those random Venmo payments. It saves a ton of time when they ask for proof.
- Underwriters can be super picky, but sometimes you can push back if a request seems over the top. They don’t always need every coffee purchase explained.
- If you’re self-employed or have side gigs, expect twice the paperwork... it’s just how it goes.
Honestly, I never thought I’d care this much about labeling folders on my desktop, but here we are.
