I totally get where you’re coming from. When I was going through the process, my lender flagged a $75 transfer from my cousin for splitting dinner. It felt a bit over the top, honestly. I get that they have to check things, but sometimes it just adds unnecessary stress.

Yeah, that level of scrutiny can feel excessive, but it’s pretty standard these days. Lenders are under a lot of pressure to document every cent, especially with non-traditional visa situations. I’ve seen clients get flagged for even smaller transfers—sometimes it’s just a matter of the underwriter wanting to see a clear paper trail. It’s frustrating, but honestly, it’s better to over-document than have things stall later. The process isn’t perfect, but once you’re through it, you’ll barely remember those little headaches.
