It’s not always about the numbers—sometimes it’s just the lender’s policy or even the mood of the underwriter that day.

That really rings true. It can feel almost arbitrary at times, which is frustrating when you’ve worked hard to rebuild. I’ve seen folks with spotless records post-bankruptcy still get flagged. Just goes to show, persistence and shopping around can make a difference, even if it’s inconsistent.
