Yeah, those closing costs are exactly why I hesitated on refinancing too. We just bought our first place last year, and honestly, we're still figuring things out. A friend of mine went the home equity loan route because they weren't sure they'd stay put long enough to justify refinancing. Seems like it worked out pretty well for them—gave them flexibility without the big upfront fees. Definitely something I'm keeping in mind if we ever need to tap into equity down the road...
