Home Equity Loan vs Refinancing to Pay Off Debt: Which Makes More Sense?
Yeah, those closing costs are exactly why I hesitated on refinancing too. We just bought our first place last year, and honestly, we're still figuring things out. A friend of mine went the home equity loan route because they weren't sure they'd stay put long enough to justify refinancing. Seems like it worked out pretty well for them - gave them flexibility without the big upfront fees. Definitely something I'm keeping in mind if we ever need to tap into equity down the road...
