Recently went through the process of refinancing my mortgage to pull some cash out for home improvements. Basically, I checked my home's value, compared lenders, applied, and closed. Wasn't too bad actually, but maybe someone knows a smoother way or has tips I missed?

Interesting, refinancing always seemed kinda intimidating to me. Did you find comparing lenders easy enough, or was it a pain sorting through all the fine print? I'm curious if anyone's tried a HELOC instead of refinancing... seems like it might be simpler, but maybe I'm just being naive, haha. Glad your experience wasn't too rough though, gives me hope for when I finally take the plunge!
