Honestly, it’s wild how often this happens. I’ve seen clients send the same pay stub three times just because the date format was off or there was a tiny missing initial. It’s frustrating, but sometimes it helps to ask for a full checklist in writing from your loan officer. That way, if they come back with new requests, you can point to what was already agreed on. Not a perfect fix, but it can speed things up a bit. The process really shouldn’t drag on forever, but unfortunately, it’s not unusual these days...

Yeah, the paperwork chase is real. I once had to resend a bank statement because the PDF was “too blurry”—even though it looked fine to me. Totally agree on getting a checklist upfront. Still, they always seem to find one more thing...

Honestly, I get the frustration, but I’ve found that even with a checklist, they’ll still ask for something random—like a utility bill from three years ago. Maybe it’s just their way of making sure we’re paying attention? Either way, I keep a folder ready... just in case.

You’d think after all these years, lenders would’ve figured out a way to streamline the process, but nope—still feels like they’re running everything on dial-up. I swear, last time I refinanced, they asked for a copy of my dog’s vaccination records. Okay, maybe not literally, but it felt that random. I had a “just-in-case” folder too... then it turned into a “just-in-case-they-lose-it-again” folder.

Honestly, I get why they need to be thorough, but sometimes it’s like they’re just testing how organized (or patient) we are. The checklist is more of a suggestion than an actual list of what they’ll want. And don’t even get me started on the waiting game—by the time they approve you, your hair’s grown out and you’re due for another haircut.

I guess the only real advice is to expect the unexpected and keep every scrap of paperwork you’ve ever touched. Or just accept that you’ll be digging through boxes in your attic at midnight looking for that one ancient document they suddenly can’t live without.

Yeah, it’s wild how long these things can drag on. Last time I refinanced, they asked for a bank statement from an account I closed years ago—like, how am I supposed to pull that out of thin air? It does feel like the process is stuck in the past. One thing that helped me was keeping a digital folder with everything scanned, but even then, they’d surprise me with some new request. Hang in there... it’s pretty normal, unfortunately.
