- Had a similar experience last year—my lender actually told me outright that if my credit improved before closing, they’d “see what they could do.”
- Ended up getting a 0.125% drop because I kept pestering them and my score ticked up.
- Another time, different lender, totally inflexible. Locked is locked, they said.
- Guess it really does come down to who you’re dealing with and how hard you push.
- Feels like there’s no set rule... just gotta read the room and ask for what you want.
