Honestly, isn't that the risk with any renovation, equity-funded or not? I mean, plumbing nightmares can pop up anytime—trust me, learned that the hard way renting my last place. But maybe instead of diving straight into a big reno, why not start smaller? Like tackle one project at a time, see how it goes, and keep some equity untouched for those nasty surprises. Could save you from stressin' big-time later on...
