I get what you’re saying, but in my experience, the lender did send a notice before my escrow went up—just buried in a stack of paperwork I almost missed. I do think some of those “miscellaneous” fees are legit, like county recording or flood certs, but it’s frustrating how vague they are. I’ve tried asking for a breakdown and sometimes they’ll actually explain, but it’s never super clear. I wish there was a more transparent way to see what’s coming, but it feels like we’re always playing catch-up.
