I've always gotten my mortgage statements in the mail—yeah, I know, I'm a dinosaur—but recently my bank keeps nudging me to switch to digital PDFs. Honestly, I like having the paper copy to scribble notes on or highlight stuff, but digital seems easier to store and search through. Anyone else switched from paper to digital or vice versa? Curious which you prefer and if there's any hidden downsides you've noticed.

I totally get the appeal of scribbling notes on paper—I mean, who doesn't enjoy the satisfaction of highlighting something important or angrily circling a questionable fee? But honestly, after switching to digital myself, I've found PDFs pretty handy. They're easy to organize (no more shoeboxes full of old statements), and searching through them is a breeze compared to flipping through pages.

One downside I noticed, though, is that sometimes I miss payments or reminders because emails get buried in my inbox. So if you do switch, make sure you set up clear email filters or calendar reminders to stay on top of things. Also, if you're worried about losing that hands-on feel, most PDF readers let you highlight or add notes digitally—though admittedly, it's not quite as satisfying as scribbling angrily with a red pen.
