Hidden fees at closing - what's your comfort zone?

Just got done chatting with my realtor today, and she casually drops the estimated closing costs on me... um, ouch. I knew there'd be some fees, but escrow, title insurance, recording fees - it's like a buffet of extra charges. Curious how everyone else feels about this stuff. Quick poll: Do you usually budget extra for these hidden fees, or do you just kinda wing it and hope it's not too painful?

Yeah, those closing costs can really sneak up on you. Learned that the hard way on my first property - thought I had everything covered, then bam, got hit with a few thousand extra in fees I hadn't even considered. Ever since then, I always pad my budget by at least 3-5% just to be safe. Might seem overly cautious, but trust me, it's better than scrambling last minute or dipping into emergency funds...
