Switching brokers mid-way can definitely be a headache—I had a friend who did that, and it set him back almost three weeks because the new broker insisted on re-verifying everything. Freelance income really throws some lenders off; I remember when I applied, they kept asking me to explain every small dip in earnings. Keeping detailed records helped a ton, but honestly, finding someone who actually understood freelancing was the real game-changer. Glad it worked out for you.

Haha, freelancing and mortgages—name a more stressful duo. A few quick tips from someone who's seen this circus a few times:

- Keep your accountant on speed dial (seriously, they're your best friend now).
- Don't panic if lenders act like your freelance income is some mysterious dark art...it's not you, it's them.
- If you ever switch brokers again, stock up on coffee and patience—you're gonna need both.

Glad you made it through the gauntlet though, congrats!

Haha, congrats on surviving the freelance mortgage maze. Honestly, I was skeptical at first—felt like lenders thought my freelance income was Monopoly money or something. My accountant definitely earned their keep during the process, but I wouldn't exactly call them my best friend...more like a necessary evil (sorry, accountants).

Switching brokers sounds like a nightmare though. I stuck with one broker the whole way through, mostly because the thought of explaining my income again to someone new gave me anxiety. Coffee and patience are good tips, but I'd add wine to that list too.

Anyway, glad you made it out alive. Gives me hope that freelancing and homeownership aren't mutually exclusive after all.
