Haha, the infamous "taco Tuesday" interrogation... classic. Had a client once whose lender flagged a $15 Starbucks reload as "suspicious recurring expense." Like, c'mon, if caffeine addiction disqualified mortgages, we'd all be renting forever. But yeah, buckle up—it's always something random.

Honestly, I get the frustration, but lenders flagging small recurring expenses isn't entirely random or unfair. They're probably just making sure you're not hiding larger obligations or debts. I mean, yeah, a $15 Starbucks reload is pretty harmless, but imagine if someone had multiple recurring charges that added up significantly each month—subscriptions, gaming purchases, or even daily food delivery. Those things can seriously impact your available income.

I remember when I first started my mortgage application, I was annoyed by the scrutiny too. But after thinking about it, it kinda made sense. They're lending you a massive chunk of money, so naturally, they wanna be thorough. Sure, some lenders might go overboard, but I'd rather deal with a bit of extra questioning than have mortgage defaults skyrocketing because people weren't actually able to afford their homes.

Still, "taco Tuesday" interrogations... that's a new one for me. Guess I'll have to watch my burrito spending habits for a while, lol.

Exactly. Also, lenders aren't just being picky—regulatory guidelines have tightened significantly. Even minor spending habits can signal risk, and they're required to document everything carefully... annoying, but understandable.

Yep, just refinanced recently and felt like I had to explain every coffee purchase and Netflix binge... Felt like I was back in high school justifying my allowance spending. Annoying, yeah, but guess it's part of the game now.

Went through something similar last year—felt like they were scrutinizing every little Amazon order. Curious though, did they question any larger expenses like vacations or home improvements, or was it mostly the small stuff?
