Just realized my mortgage pre-approval expired a couple weeks ago (oops), and I'm not sure how big of a deal this is. Do I have to start the whole process over again, or is it more like a quick renewal thing? I'm kinda worried it'll affect my credit score if they have to run everything again. Has anyone else been through this, and how much hassle am I looking at here?

I've been through this a couple times, and honestly, it's usually not a huge deal. But why worry about the credit check so much? Unless you've been applying for other big loans recently, one more quick pull won't tank your score. Plus, if your financial situation hasn't changed dramatically, lenders often just refresh the pre-approval rather than starting completely from scratch. Maybe double-check with your lender directly though...each bank seems to have their own quirks with this stuff.

Exactly this. People stress way too much about credit pulls—it's not like lenders are vampires draining your credit score dry, lol. But speaking of quirks...anyone else notice some banks refresh approvals super quick, while others treat it like you're applying to NASA?
