That “not in our system” excuse is the worst. I’ve had the same thing happen—sent in all my docs, got the confirmation, then a week later they claim they never received them. It’s like, what’s the point of the portal if stuff just disappears? I started doing the same as you: email, upload, and then I even print out the confirmation page just in case. Paranoid? Maybe, but after the third time I had to scramble to find old pay stubs, I’m not risking it.

Honestly, I wish they’d just let us talk to a real person who could check things in real time. The automated systems are supposed to make things easier, but half the time they just add more hoops. If you’re refinancing or trying to get a forbearance, it’s even worse. My advice—keep every receipt, confirmation, and email. It’s a pain, but it’s saved me from late fees more than once.

That “not in our system” line drives me nuts too. I’ve had to resend the same W-2 three times before someone finally acknowledged it. I started keeping a folder with every single doc and screenshot, just in case. It’s wild how much more work these portals create when they’re supposed to help. Ever tried calling their customer service? Half the time, I get bounced around or put on hold forever. At this point, I almost expect something to go missing every time I submit anything...

Yeah, I totally get where you’re coming from. When I was applying, I swear I spent more time tracking down “lost” documents than actually filling out the application. It’s like, if you’re gonna make us use these fancy online systems, at least make them work, right? I started taking photos of every envelope I mailed in, just in case. It’s exhausting, but you’re not alone—seems like everyone’s dealing with the same nonsense. Hang in there, it does eventually get sorted out... usually.

Honestly, I couldn’t agree more. But here’s the thing—if you’re struggling with payments, don’t just wait for the system to “sort itself out.” Call your lender, ask about hardship programs, and keep every receipt or screenshot. Trust me, it’s a pain now but saves headaches later.

Man, the number of times I’ve yelled at my computer because the payment portal glitched... it’s almost like a monthly ritual at this point. Totally agree—don’t just trust the “system” to magically fix itself. I had a client once who thought screenshots were overkill until their payment vanished into the void. Paper trails are boring, but losing track of your mortgage is way worse.
