"Did you find that momentum carried over into tackling your bigger debts, or did it fade after a while?"
Honestly, for me, the momentum from paying off smaller debts definitely helped at first, but it wasn't exactly a magic bullet. It felt awesome crossing those smaller balances off my list, and it gave me a sense of control. But once I hit the bigger debtsβespecially my mortgageβit started feeling like a marathon rather than a sprint. The excitement didn't vanish completely, but it definitely mellowed out into more of a steady determination.
I'm curious though, since you mentioned the avalanche method made sense mathematically, did you ever feel discouraged by how long it took to see visible progress? I mean, knowing you're saving money is great, but did you ever struggle with motivation when the numbers weren't dropping quickly enough?
