Been thinking about tapping into my home equity, but honestly, the IRS tax stuff is kinda confusing me. Quick poll: do you factor in tax rules when deciding on a home equity loan, or nah, not really worth the headache?

Yeah, been there. Honestly, when I took out my home equity loan a few years ago for a kitchen remodel, I briefly looked at the tax implications but didn't let it drive my decision. Turns out with all the new tax law changes, it's not even as beneficial as it used to be for many people. I just figured if the numbers made sense overall, taxes were a secondary concern... life's complicated enough already.
