Yeah, totally agree on the paperwork hassleβ€”felt like a never-ending scavenger hunt when I did mine. Honestly though, FHA tends to be cautious about big shifts, especially with the housing market being so unpredictable lately. I'd expect more minor tweaks rather than anything drastic next year...

Haha, "scavenger hunt" nails it. Felt like every time I thought I was done, they'd pop up asking for some random doc from 5 years ago... Hang in there though, it's worth it once you're finally holding those keys.

Haha, seriously though, why do lenders always wait until you're about to cross the finish line before asking for the most obscure paperwork imaginable? Makes me wonder if FHA loans are tightening up their requirements or if it's just lenders being extra cautious these days. Anyone heard if FHA guidelines are shifting next year, maybe getting stricter because of the market? Or is this scavenger hunt routine just standard procedure now? I've had a few deals recently where it felt like the lender was digging deeper than they used to. Curious if others are noticing the same trend or if I've just been unlucky lately...

Honestly, I refinanced earlier this year and it felt like a never-ending treasure hunt too. Just when I thought I'd handed over everything possible, they'd casually ask for some random pay stub from 2017 or proof of an old address I barely remembered living at. Maybe lenders are just being extra cautious because of market uncertainty? Haven't heard anything specific about FHA tightening next year, but wouldn't surprise me if they're quietly raising the bar a bit...
