Sticky notes are my spirit animal, but I swear they multiply and vanish at the same time. I tried Myfxbook’s calendar after losing my “important events” sticky for the third time. Here’s my process: 1) Set up alerts for only the currencies I care about (no more 3am notifications about New Zealand milk auctions), 2) Double-check I’m not getting pinged for every minor blip, and 3) Actually read the alert before panicking. It’s saved me from a few “wait, what happened?” moments. Still keep a sticky or two, just in case...

“no more 3am notifications about New Zealand milk auctions”

That one got me, because I’ve had my phone buzz at the worst hours for stuff I don’t even care about. I get the appeal of sticky notes, but honestly, they’re like socks in the dryer—here one minute, gone the next. Myfxbook’s calendar is decent, but I’m still a bit skeptical about relying on any app 100%. Tech glitches happen, and sometimes those “minor blips” turn out to be bigger deals than they look. Still, your process sounds solid—just don’t toss those stickies yet. Sometimes analog saves the day when tech drops the ball.

- Totally get the sticky note struggle—mine end up stuck to random stuff or just vanish.
- I’ve had apps freeze right when I needed them, so I still jot down key events on paper as backup.
- Myfxbook’s decent, but sometimes their notifications are delayed or just... weirdly timed.
- One thing that helps: set custom alerts for only the markets you actually care about. Cuts down on those 3am “why is my phone buzzing?” moments.
- Analog isn’t perfect, but when tech flakes out, it’s saved me more than once.

I get the appeal of paper backups, but honestly, I’ve lost more notes than I’ve saved that way. Once had a crucial Fed announcement reminder end up in the laundry—total disaster. I’ve started using Google Calendar with color-coded alerts instead. Not perfect, but at least it syncs everywhere and doesn’t end up in my jeans pocket.

Honestly, I totally get why you ditched paper for digital—losing a key reminder in the wash sounds rough. I’ve had sticky notes just vanish from my desk, so I feel you there. Google Calendar’s color-coding is super handy for tracking different types of events, but do you ever worry about missing something if your phone’s on silent? I sometimes set up duplicate alerts just in case... probably overkill, but I hate missing anything market-related. Still, syncing across devices is a huge plus.
