Been trying to wrap my head around applying for down payment assistance programs, and honestly, it's feeling a bit overwhelming. There's paperwork everywhere, eligibility criteria that seem to change depending on who you ask, and I'm not even sure if I'm looking at legit sources half the time, lol. If anyone's been through this or knows some shortcuts or common mistakes to avoid, I'd seriously appreciate your wisdom. How'd you make it less stressful?

Yeah, that part drove me nuts too. Have you tried connecting with a HUD-approved housing counselor? They're free, legit, and really cleared things up for me when I was drowning in paperwork...
