I've been trying to organize my growing collection of vintage comics, and it's honestly getting a bit overwhelming. Right now, I'm just using a basic spreadsheet—title, issue number, condition, notes—but it's starting to feel clunky. I mean, it works okay-ish, but there's gotta be something better out there. Maybe an app or some kind of tagging system? Curious how other people handle this kinda thing...

I dealt with a similar issue when my collection of antique woodworking tools started getting out of hand. At first, spreadsheets seemed logical—listing item names, dates acquired, condition, and notes—but after a while, it felt cumbersome and inefficient. Eventually, I switched to an app called Sortly (though there are plenty of similar options out there). It lets me snap photos of each item, tag them by type or era, and even track locations if I lend something out or move it around the house.

Honestly, the visual aspect alone made a big difference for me. Being able to see thumbnails at a glance felt way more intuitive than scrolling through endless rows in Excel. Plus, tagging makes searching simpler—just type in a keyword or filter by category instead of manually scanning through everything.

That said, there's always a bit of upfront work transferring your existing data into any new system...but in my experience, it's worth the initial hassle.

I've been thinking about something similar lately, especially since moving into my first home. I've started accumulating tools and random household items faster than I expected, and now I'm worried about losing track of warranties or manuals. Sortly sounds interesting, but I'm a bit cautious about relying completely on an app—what if it stops being supported or the company goes under? Have you thought about backup options or exporting your data periodically?

Also, does anyone know if these inventory apps handle document attachments well, like PDFs of receipts or warranty info? That'd be pretty handy for me, since I'm always paranoid I'll misplace important paperwork...
