Last year, I had this credit card debt that got sent off to collections (long story, but basically life happened). Anyway, I finally got some cash together and called them up, expecting the worst. Surprisingly, they were willing to settle for way less than the original amount if I paid right away. Felt kinda weird negotiating debt like it was a used car or something, haha. Curious if anyone else has dealt with this kinda thing and how it turned out?
