Fair points, but have you thought about what happens if things go south? Even with clear communication upfront, isn't there still a chance that emotions could cloud judgment later on? I've seen friendships strained over smaller stuff than money... Sure, banks are rigid, but sometimes that rigidity protects both sides. Guess it depends on how comfortable you are mixing personal relationships with financial obligations.

Totally get where you're coming from—money and friendships can be a tricky cocktail. I'm in the middle of buying my first place, and honestly, borrowing from a friend sounds tempting (goodbye, bank paperwork nightmares!). But knowing myself, I'd probably stress more about accidentally spilling coffee on their couch than missing a payment to the bank. Guess it boils down to knowing yourself and your friendship dynamics...and maybe keeping some stain remover handy just in case.

Definitely understand the appeal of skipping bank paperwork, but mixing friendship and finances can get complicated fast. Have you thought about how you'd handle things if your friend suddenly needed the money back early? That scenario always makes me a bit uneasy...
