Pretty sure I just got scammed by this app

So, I downloaded this budgeting app last week - looked legit, decent reviews, nice interface and all that. Figured I'd finally get my spending under control, you know? Anyway, things were fine at first, but yesterday I noticed a weird charge on my credit card statement. It wasn't huge, just like $9.99, but I definitely didn't authorize it. Checked the name, and it's some random company I've never heard of.
I googled around a bit and found a few other people mentioning something similar after using this app. Now I'm kinda paranoid about what else they might've accessed. Ugh, I hate dealing with this stuff. Has anyone else had sketchy experiences with these budget-tracking apps or am I just unlucky here?
