Figuring out how much my house is worth - am I doing this right?

I tried one of those online home equity calculators the other day just to see how much value we've built up. Plugged in our mortgage balance and what Zillow claims our home is worth (which, um, seems optimistic tbh). It gave me a number that seemed kinda high...not complaining, but is it really that simple? Curious if anyone else found these tools accurate or if it's just wishful thinking on my part, lol.
