Gotta admit, some of these requests from lenders are wild, but honestly, I think it’s gotten a bit easier compared to a few years back. Used to be actual paper mountains—now at least you can drag and drop. I know the digital chaos is real, but hey, at least you don’t need a filing cabinet the size of your fridge anymore. Maybe I’m just weird, but I’ll take digging through my downloads over hunting for that one missing page in a stack of forms any day.

Yeah, I hear you—digital docs are a lifesaver compared to the old days. Still, lenders can get picky about file formats or signatures. Had a client last month who had to re-upload the same pay stub three times... but at least it wasn’t lost in a pile on the kitchen table.

Honestly, I get the appeal of digital docs—no more hunting for paperwork under couch cushions. But I’ve run into a few headaches with them too:

- Sometimes lenders insist on “wet” signatures, even after you’ve uploaded everything digitally. Had to print, sign, scan, and re-upload more than once.
- File size limits can be a pain. I had to compress a PDF three different ways just to get it through their portal. Not everyone’s tech-savvy enough for that.
- Security’s another thing I worry about. Sending sensitive stuff over email or uploading to random portals always makes me a bit uneasy.

Don’t get me wrong, it beats losing stuff in a paper pile... but there’s still room for things to go sideways. I keep hard copies of everything just in case—maybe that’s old school, but it’s saved me more than once when someone claimed they never got my docs. Digital isn’t always foolproof, at least not yet.

Honestly, I hear you on the digital doc frustrations. There’s a lot of talk about how tech is streamlining the process, but in reality, it’s still a patchwork. Lenders are all over the place—some want everything e-signed, others cling to paper like it’s gold. I’ve had clients get stuck in endless loops of printing and scanning too. As for security, I’m with you—emailing tax returns never sits right with me. I usually recommend using secure portals (when they work), but even then, I keep backup hard copies. It’s not paranoia if you’ve seen deals fall through because someone “lost” a file...

Yeah, the “streamlined” process is more like a scavenger hunt half the time. I’ve had lenders ask for the same W-2 three different ways—email, portal, then fax (who still has a fax machine?). I keep hard copies too... learned that lesson the hard way.
